BEFORE
Beautiful professional images, she masters her craft but struggle to find her own style. Every image is beautiful but altogether, the portfolio lacks a cohesive style. it’s a good thing that she is experimenting a lot but as a result it goes in a lot of opposite directions. The color palette is all over the place. I can also feel a lot of “tightness” in the way she approaches posing and lightning, as she is trying to replicate the codes from overwater instead of embracing the flow of the water element she is photographing from. For a potential portrait client, it’s going to be hard to project yourself and to really know what result you are going to get from the shoot.
AFTER
Her personnality truly SHNES there, she found her voice, and the warm tones brings a feeling we are not used to in underwater photography. There is also more flow, she let go of a very controlling aspect of her work that was holding her back. I don’t have the feeling she is following a “posing guide 101 for underwater photographers” anymore. Instead she is capturing how she is perceiving the underwater world and that changed the whole game. As a result Everything looks cohesive and she is bringing something different and unique, because it’s coming from deep down. She now invites us to join us to in journey in dreamy surrealistic place.

Hi there, it’s Pauline!
I know the value of these mentoring sessions and how life changing they can be for the creatives who are ready to listen and grow. I think the one to one format is just the best to go deep very quickly, and to have advice perfectly tailored for you, by someone who has a deep knowledge of the creative industry for more than 15 years.
Back in design school, I was often top of the class, but more importantly, my classmates very often came to me when they were stuck or before giving their big projects to the teacher because I was going to give them the best tips to get a better grade (and they did :D)
When I work with businesses, as a creative director, my superpower goes into analyzing a brand, and what they need to improve to communicate their message more clearly and attract the right clients. And then of course create the perfect design in alignement with their values. It sounds serious but that's quite like portfolio review with extra steps!
Nowadays, I occasionally teach Master degrees, and seing students pushing the limits of their creativity and build crazy projects that are going to help them go toward their dream career is incredibly rewarding! It's also super inspiring, because let's be honest these young adults are building the future of design! And so much fun, as my teaching subject is Augmented Reality!
At the same time, I have been doing portfolio reviews for Adobe, I also created the Photoshop clinic on Adobe Youtube channel, where people can send their photographs for me to fix during a live. I am SO PROUD that Adobe gave me the space to make this accessible and free for every creatives who need the support! Additionaly I have been doing solo lives and interviewing more than 300 creatives for the last three years, about every subject of the design industry from photography, to illustration, video, motion design, 3d, EVERYTHING. And seriously that's the best job I have ever had!!
AND of course, I have been mentoring photographers for more than 4 years privately. It's always a lot of fun for me because people usually come to me for a private Photoshop course, and eventually the conversation shift away from purely the technical stuff quite quickly. My students get a proper analyze of their work (in a very french straightforward way but always lovingly I promise! :D), a better understanding of their strengths, a more efficient creative process, a new dose of inspiration and motivation, and even a clear idea where they want to take their portfolio!
Everything I do is a balance of being myself a creator, pursuing my career as an artist and designer, being a supportive part of my community, and teaching other creatives make their own way in the industry. I find it crucial for me to stay in touch with the professional world, and still challenge myself by pushing boundaries, and I know it helps me stay relevant in what I teach. But all of these are bringing me SO MUCH JOY AND PRIDE, and I can't wait to share aaaall this knowledge and passion with you🙂
